UCCIL to promote UK-Odisha trade ties

In a bid to strengthen UK-Odisha trade ties, President of Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL) Dr. Prabodh Mohanty led a delegation to meet Dr. Andrew Fleming, the British Deputy High Commissioner for East and North East India.

Dr. Mohanty along with Secretary Dr. Sanjeev Mahapatra focused on the ongoing efforts to promote and strengthen trade relations between Odisha and the United Kingdom. UCCIL, under Dr. Mohanty’s leadership, has been actively working to create new opportunities for its members by connecting them with international partners.

This meeting with Dr. Fleming is a significant step in the chamber’s strategy to expand the global footprint of Odia businesses and facilitate greater economic exchange, Dr. Mohanty said.

Dr. Fleming, whose portfolio includes promoting business and trade, expressed keen interest in the potential for collaboration and investment in Odisha. The discussion touched upon various sectors where UK and Odisha businesses could find synergy, including manufacturing, technology, and green energy.

The delegation highlighted Odisha’s economic growth and its potential as a hub for both industry and commerce. Dr. Mohanty emphasized that initiatives like this are crucial for creating a robust and globally competitive business environment in the state.
