Ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka next month, cricket fans will witness the ICC Under-19 World Cup, which begins this week. The Indian Under-19 team will take the field on the opening day under the leadership of young captain Ayush Mhatre, while all eyes will be on 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
The Under-19 World Cup will be played in the 50-over format and hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia. India will play all its league matches in Zimbabwe. On January 15, India will face USA, with the match starting at 1:00 PM IST and the toss scheduled half an hour earlier.
India will next play Bangladesh on January 17, followed by their final league match against New Zealand on January 24. With a strong squad and impressive recent performances, Team India is being seen as a strong contender for the title.
