INDOCRYPT 2025 Inaugurated at IIIT-Bhubaneswar, A Hub for Cryptography Minds

Bhubaneswar: The four-day international conference INDOCRYPT inaugurated at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bhubaneswar marking the beginning of an important global dialogue on cryptography and information security research and innovation. Global Experts Deliberate on Cryptography and Information Security.

The event, one of India’s premier gatherings on cryptology, features world-renowned experts, researchers, academicians, and industry professionals discussing the latest advancements, breakthroughs, and challenges in the field – crucial in an era of escalating digital threats.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Minister for Law, Works & Excise Shri Prithviraj Harichandan. He emphasized the significance of cryptography and information security in strengthening digital governance, legal frameworks, and skill ecosystems. He highlighted how conferences like INDOCRYPT can contribute to meaningful reforms through improved policymaking and robust digital infrastructure.

The opening day included three key technical sessions delivered by distinguished scholars: Prof. Pantelimon Stănică from the Naval Postgraduate School, USA; Prof. Sugata Gangopadhyay from IIT Roorkee & Dr Luca De Feo from IBM Research Europe. The speakers shared cutting-edge research insights and explored recent advancements in cryptographic theory and practice, offering valuable perspectives on both current applications and future directions of the field.

Organised by the Cryptology Research Society of India (CRSI) in association with IIIT Bhubaneswar, INDOCRYPT 2025 aims to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovative solutions to combat evolving cybersecurity risks, ultimately contributing to more secure digital ecosystems worldwide.

Welcome addresses were given by Prof. Ashish Ghosh, Director of IIIT Bhubaneswar, and Dr Debashis Jena. Notable attendees included Prof. Bimal Roy from ISI Kolkata and Dr Indivar Gupta, General Chair of the conference.
