Hema Malini said that her family was troubled by the media spotlight after Dharmendra’s illness. In an interview with the Times of India, she said, “Sunny was very angry and upset. We were all going through an emotional time, and the media was chasing our car. There was a lot of harassment.”
It’s worth noting that Sunny Deol was quite angry with the paparazzi sitting outside his house. Sunny angrily told them to leave. Hema Malini further said, “Everyone is in shock after Dharmendra ji’s passing. It was very terrible because we were struggling for a month while he was unwell.
We were trying to cope with everything that was happening in the hospital. We were all there, me, Esha, Sunny, Bobby, everyone was together. Several times before, when Dharmendra ji went to the hospital, he recovered and came back. We thought he would come back this time too.”
Hema also spoke about Dharmendra’s farmhouse. Hema called it a mini-Punjab. She said, “His farm in Lonavala is very beautiful. It looks like a mini-Punjab. He had cows there.
We used to get ghee from the farm. Just two months ago, he brought three bottles of ghee for us. He said, ‘This is for Esha, this is for Ahana, and this is for you.’ He was very loving. Whenever I wasn’t around, he would spend time in Lonavala.
When I went to Mathura or Delhi for work, we would adjust our schedules. When I came back, he would come and spend time with me in Mumbai.”
