BSNL Launches WiFi Calling Services Across India, No Extra Charges for Users

With the start of the new year, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has offered significant relief to its customers. The company has launched Wi-Fi Calling, or Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi), service across all its telecom circles in India. This feature allows users to make and receive calls even when mobile signals are weak, by using a Wi-Fi network.

The biggest advantage of Wi-Fi Calling will be felt in areas where mobile network coverage is often unreliable. BSNL users, especially those in rural and remote areas, will now be able to make uninterrupted calls using a stable Wi-Fi connection. If a BSNL Bharat Fiber or any other broadband connection is available at home or in the office, there will be no need to worry about network issues.

This service does not require downloading any third-party app. Wi-Fi Calling works directly through the phone’s default dialer, and calls are made using your existing mobile number. Importantly, the service automatically switches between Wi-Fi and mobile networks during a call, ensuring uninterrupted conversations.

BSNL has clarified that no separate charges will be levied for Wi-Fi Calling. Calls made via Wi-Fi will be billed like regular voice calls. This means users can talk according to their existing plan without any extra cost.

Wi-Fi Calling is supported on most new and modern smartphones. Users simply need to go to their phone’s settings and enable the Wi-Fi Calling option. If there are any doubts regarding device compatibility, BSNL advises customers to contact their nearest service center or helpline.
