Bangladesh Violence: 2 Men Gang Rape A Hindu Widow Woman In Jhenaidah

A 40-year-old Hindu woman was gang-raped In the Kaliganj area of ​​Jhenaidah district Bangladesh, by two men, then tied to a tree, and had her hair cut off. The victim’s husband had already passed away, and she lives with her child in Jhenaidah district.

The victim has filed a complaint at the Kaliganj police station. According to the complaint, the woman was raped by the same man from whom she had purchased 3 decimal of land and a two-story house for 20 lakh taka (approximately 15 lakh rupees) two and a half years ago in Nadipara. The victim, a resident of Kaliganj Upazila, had bought the property from Shahin and his brother, residents of Nadipara. Following the deal, Shahin began harboring ill intentions towards the victim and engaging in inappropriate behavior.

According to the police complaint, on Saturday evening (January 3, 2026), while two of the widow’s relatives were visiting her from her village, Shahin and his accomplice, Hasan, forcibly entered her house and raped her. The accused then demanded 50,000 taka (approximately 37,000 rupees) from the victim. When the woman refused to pay, the accused attacked her relatives and chased them away.

Upon hearing the woman’s screams, the accused tied her to a tree and cut off her hair. The perpetrators also filmed the incident and circulated the video. The woman was also beaten, causing her to lose consciousness, after which local residents admitted her to the hospital. Dr. Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman of the hospital stated that the woman initially did not disclose anything about the incident. Later, during a medical examination, it was discovered that she had been raped. Following this, the woman filed a complaint against Shahin and Hasan at the Kaliganj police station.

Jhenaidah Additional Superintendent of Police Bilal Hossain said, “We summoned the victim to the police station and recorded her complaint. After the investigation, the police will take the strictest possible legal action against the accused.”
